Overview

Students who participate in arts learning experiences often show improvement in academic and social development. At the Harris Center for the Arts, we believe attending a cultural arts performance is an important part of the student learning process.

The Harris Center for the Arts has a limited amount of grants available to help offset the cost of tickets or transportation to one of our School Matinee Series performances. To see if your school qualifies, please read the information below.

Guidelines and Requirements

WHO CAN APPLY?

Schools that are classified by the State of California as Title I schools and planning to purchase 25 or more student tickets to a School Matinee Series performance may apply for ticket or transportation grants. NOTE: Funding is limited and may not be available for all qualified applicants. There is a yearly limit of one ticket or transportation grant per grade level per school for tickets.

TRANSPORTATION FUNDING

Available for classes of 25 or more students (see information below on funding limits). Applications are processed in the order received. There is a yearly limit of one grant per grade level per school. Your award is based on number of student tickets purchased. Adults are not eligible for the bus fund allowance, even if they are traveling on the bus with the students. You must order the minimum number of tickets listed below and make full payment within 30 days of placing your order.

  • $75 Award Purchase 25-39 tickets
  • $100 Award Purchase 40-59 tickets
  • $125 Award Purchase 60 or more tickets

TICKET FUNDING

You must order the minimum number of tickets listed below, if you are awarded a grant the amount awarded will be deducted from the balance owed. This will be reflected on your invoice.

  • $100 Award Purchase 40-59 tickets
  • $125 Award Purchase 60 or more tickets

APPLICATIONS

The process for completing an application is easy. Grant applications are processed in conjunction with the Ticket Request. when submitting a Ticket Request you will need to indicate that you are a Title I School and interested in applying, you will be directed to fill out the required information.

Confirmation of your approval will be sent within five days of your completed ticket order.

Ticket grants will be deducted from your total payment balance, and will be reflected on your invoice.

Bus grants will be reimbursed to the school after the performance by check.
